Refund policy

Returns, withdrawal and refunds

This policy covers distance purchases by consumers from Lucas Bauer Jewellery. It applies to HYPHOS jewellery, POSIDONIES original pieces and new creations, subject to the statutory exceptions below. Your statutory guarantees continue to apply in every case.

The terms applicable when you made your purchase remain in place. If an earlier policy gave you a 30-day return period, that more favourable commitment remains available for the relevant contract.

Your right of withdrawal

For eligible purchases, you have 14 days to notify us that you wish to withdraw, without giving a reason. The period runs from receipt of the goods by you or a third party you nominate other than the carrier. Where goods from one order are delivered separately, it runs from receipt of the last item. The statutory rules for calculating and extending this period apply.

The one-of-a-kind nature of a POSIDONIES original does not remove this right. Nor does producing a standard design after it has been ordered.

How to notify us

Before the period expires, send the form below or any clear statement of withdrawal to hi@lucasbauerjewellery.com, or by post to Lucas Bauer Jewellery, 38 rue Ramey, 75018 Paris, France. Including your order reference and the relevant jewellery helps us process the request. Prior authorisation and a reason are not required to exercise this right.

You may also access the return and cancellation service through your orders: WITHDRAW FROM THE CONTRACT HERE. Identify the order and relevant items, then confirm your request. Marketing consent is not required. You may always send us a clear withdrawal statement directly by email or post.

Returning the jewellery

After notifying us, return the goods without undue delay and no later than 14 days after sending your decision, to the return address above, unless we offer to collect them. You bear the direct return costs where you were informed of this before purchase. Costs remain ours in the event of seller error or lack of conformity, under the applicable rules.

Please protect the jewellery carefully and retain proof of dispatch. Return the accessories and original packaging where possible. Missing original packaging does not, by itself, exclude your statutory right. You may be liable for diminished value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to examine the nature and characteristics of the goods, under the statutory conditions.

Refunds

Where withdrawal applies, we refund the amounts due without undue delay and no later than 14 days after we are informed of your decision. For goods, we may withhold reimbursement until we receive them back or you provide evidence of dispatch, whichever happens first, unless we offer to collect them.

The refund includes the initial delivery costs that must legally be reimbursed, up to the least expensive standard delivery option offered. An extra charge for a more expensive option you expressly chose need not be refunded. For a partial return, delivery costs are treated under the applicable rules without automatic exclusion.

We use the original payment method unless you expressly agree to another method without fees to you. These arrangements do not affect your rights if a refund is late.

Made-to-order and personalised creations

A made-to-order creation that remains a non-personalised standard design has the right of withdrawal described above. Starting its production is not, in itself, sufficient to remove that right.

The exception for goods made to the consumer’s specifications or clearly personalised applies only where its statutory conditions are actually met. The personalisation and its consequences are explained before you commit to the purchase. Merely selecting “Made to order”, natural variations in stones or the presence of an optional preferences field are not treated as an automatic exclusion.

This withdrawal exception never removes statutory guarantees or our obligations in the event of error, defects or lack of conformity.

Errors, defects and statutory guarantees

If jewellery is defective, damaged or not as agreed, contact us using the details above with information identifying the purchase and the problem. Photographs can help us assess the issue without replacing your statutory rights.

The jewellery is covered by the statutory guarantee of conformity, including for defects that appear within two years of delivery, under the French Consumer Code. Depending on the circumstances, statutory remedies include repair, replacement, a price reduction or termination of the contract; this policy cannot restrict them. The statutory warranty against hidden defects also applies, with an action within two years of discovery of the defect, subject to the French Civil Code. Costs that the seller must legally bear are not transferred to the customer.
