Lucas Bauer

Lucas Bauer hails from Marseille, a city dear to his heart with its scenic hills overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and narrow alleyways adorned with vibrant graffiti. One fateful day, while exploring the Calanques in search of unique botanical shapes, he stumbled upon a new path. The rugged beauty of his surroundings bestowed upon him a newfound sense of purpose, a strong gust of the Mistral wind guiding him towards Paris. Mesmerised by the effervescent sophistication of the capital, which granted him anonymity and the freedom to reimagine himself, he started studying fashion design and patternmaking in 2009.

In 2013, right after completing his master's degree at the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne (now known as IFM), Lucas was hired by Louis Vuitton. For nine years, he worked as a jewellery and accessories designer in the Women's fashion studio, contributing to both the runway shows and commercial collections. He reveled in the challenge of luxury, immersing himself in the intricacies of European craftsmanship throughout his creative explorations.

Lucas Bauer left Louis Vuitton in 2022 and set out to create his own brand. He began crafting bespoke jewellery pieces for custom orders, refining his artistry through self-teaching and the invaluable guidance of skilled artisans.

In September 2024, Lucas launched his full first collection, HYPHOS, marking the start of a new chapter in his creative odyssey. The collection features delicate jewellery in gold, silver, vermeil and fine stones that evolve into organic shapes, evoking the intricate forms of tentacles or stems.

Inspired by the primal origins of nature and living beings, the shapes pay homage to primitive forms that existed before us and will continue to exist long after we are gone. The jewellery interlace and fuse with the human body, like metallic creatures born in the infinitesimal realm seeking to reclaim it, living alongside us, embellishing our everyday lives, and bringing a gentle touch to our impulse-saturated existence. They convey a message of unity, reminding us of the fundamental bond between all living things and our place in the natural world.
